My Story

For me it’s about more than just building brands and selling food. I’ve experienced the impact food can have on the physical and mental health of adults, as well as kids.   Combined with my commitment to sustainability, this is why I am so driven to be part of the solution to make good food more accessible. 

After years of steady progression at Fortune 500 companies in Consumer Package Goods (CPG) and Healthcare, I left the corporate world to pursue my own entrepreneurial journey as an independent Brand Strategist working with emerging natural food businesses  in order to maximize the impact I can make.

a little more about me

  • Why let big brands have all the fun?  I started my career working on big brands like American Girl, Philly Cream Cheese, Kraft Natural Cheese and Assurant Health.  These experiences were invaluable, but I wanted to focus my energy on building purpose-driven brands. In 2012 I walked away from my “steady job” to build a business where I could focus on what I’m passionate about; helping more people get access to real food by supporting food businesses who feel the same.  
  • My “superpower” is connecting the dots. I love to listen, learn and connect people and ideas who work together to create change.  Getting to know people, including stories about where they’ve been and where they want to go, is a delight & honor!
  • Inspiration is everywhere so my wheels are always turning, but outside of work you can find me doing a spin class, leading family-friendly volunteer projects through my non-profit Sunbeam Kids, soaking up knowledge via podcasts, going on outdoor adventures with my family and cheering on my alma mater, the Wisconsin Badgers.   I live in a suburb of Milwaukee with my husband, two kids, and our 14 year old dog who proves you’re never too old to learn new tricks.

My mission is to build a more sustainable food system that improves access to real food to help everyone  live to their full potential. 

Isn’t it fascinating that food can be both the cause and cure of so many things? If you are what you eat, we need it to be good! And since good health is contagious, I am here to help it multiply by using my expertise in Brand Strategy to help natural food brands become category leaders in both philosophy and growth.  Together we can create a ripple effect to help people see food in a new way.

Every day I am driven to foster collaboration, connection and community by supporting small food & beverage brands with the resources they need (+ an endless supply of realistic optimism) in support of this mission.
